SFJAZZ Collective
Now in its fifth year, this All-Star ensemble is one of the most exciting jazz groups in the world. Conceived of by former Artistic Director Joshua Redman as a “composers workshop” dedicated to presenting new music, the Collective has expanded on that vision, featuring not only original music by each of its members but also arrangements of compositions by a jazz master. This year features the music of pianist McCoy Tyner.
The SFJAZZ Collective is Joe Lovano, saxophones and Artistic Director; Miguel Zenon, alto saxophone/flute; Dave Douglas, trumpet; Robin Eubanks, trombone; Renee Rosnes, piano; Matt Penman, bass; and Eric Harland, drums.
