Todd Clouser Quartet

Cover $5
Despite his youthful looks, guitarist Todd Clouser is a surprisingly well-traveled musician. A graduate of Boston’s prestigious Berklee School of Music, Clouser studied with Peter Sprague, Berklee professors Mike Ihde and Jim Kelly, and noted NY guitarist David “Fuze” Fiuczsynski, and worked regularly in jazz, pop and rock venues in the Boston area. Upon his return to Minneapolis, Clouser fronted the rock band 4 Letter Man, performing in many of the high-profile venues in the Midwest and establishing an impressive reputation with his songwriting and performances. Clouser currently resides in the Baja region of Mexico, performing regularly in the Los Cabos area.
While his new album can be classified as “modern jazz,” Clouser’s writing crosses many genre boundaries, incorporating elements of pop, rock, and recently acquired Mexican influences. The new songs reflect his growth as a writer and performer, and are the clearest, most concise expression of his style to date. He is coming off a summer of workshops and shows with the groove organ trio Medeski, Martin, and Wood, trumpeter Steven Bernstein and guitarist Marc Ribot.
“These guys are really good. Todd Clouser writes catchy tunes that make you want to move. Rock with some groove to it. You should get out and see them now, before you have to pay fifty dollars to hear them in concert.”
“This is a really fun band with lots of talent!”
- Benny Weinbeck – Internationally recognized jazz musician, producer, composer
