Join Cantus for their 3rd annual event benefitting the organization’s commitment to educational outreach. Proceeds from this event support Cantus’ innovative Artists in Residence (AIR) program.
During the event, singers will compete for the title of Cantus Idol in multi-round voting. Same rules as last year – vote with your dollars to support your singer to the next round and ultimately become the 2010 Cantus Idol! New this year – a live auction that you won’t want to miss! ~ Guest Judges are Brian Newhouse, John DeHaan and Sarah Hicks! Emcee for the evening will be Erin Schwab!
As a non-profit organization, Cantus is an active proponent of music education, encouraging people of all ages to sing. On an annual basis, the ensemble works with over 10,000 young people throughout the country in educational activities ranging from master classes to festivals and collaborations.
Proceeds from this event supports Cantus’ innovative and needed Artists in Residence (AIR) program. Each year, and at no cost to the schools, Cantus works with over 200 choir students and directors from three Minnesota high schools to improve vocal skills, expand the choral repertoire and inspire students with our collaborative style of music making. The year-long residency concludes with a public concert featuring the three choirs and Cantus in a joyous program dedicated to the future of the choral arts.
