This event is a benefit to feed children around the world through local charity and fair-trade coffee importer Sam and Evan’s Coffee.
It has been 8 years since Robert has released a solo album. The World on Seven Strings is Robert’s third and most diverse solo recording with music from 11 countries (plus original material) sung in seven languages and exquisitely interpreted on the Brazilian 7-string classical guitar. Everest will be performing solo material from the new CD, along with many international and original tunes with the accompaniment of his world music ensemble.
The Expedition features:
Robert Everest, vocals, Brazilian 7-string guitar, Algerian mandoud, Cuban tres
Peter Shu, piano
Gus Lindquist, trumpet
Doug Little, saxophones/flute
Dan Arlig, bass
Joel Arpin, drums
Shai Hayo, percussion
One of the busiest artists on the international music scene, Everest regularly plays 150-200 shows a year locally and nationally. His unique blend of Brazilian and Latin styles makes for some enchanting original music, and his exciting live performances showcase his vast repertoire of acoustic world music.
