Hear Erik’s fierce and fluid playing on original instrumentals, traditional Celtic fare, and bluegrass. Teague Alexy is an award-winning Duluth-based musician, author, and storyteller. He is probably best known for his Americana songwriting in the national touring duo Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank. Teague’s songwriting is clearly influenced by his home in Minnesota as well as his childhood in New Jersey and life as a traveling musical hobo. Teague’s storytelling side has deeper roots to his Irish ancestry. The name ‘Teague’ was once used to describe the storytelling poets who travelled ancient Ireland.

AT VIEUX CARRÉ:
Davina and the Vagabonds

December 15 & 16 | 9pm
Call 612.332.5299 or Click Here For Tickets

Since exploding onto the scene in 2005, Davina and the Vagabonds have grown from a down-and-dirty blues band into one of the most exciting acoustic ensembles on the international stage. This high-energy quintet has established itself with a stellar live show, a professional look, and good old-fashioned hard work. They used to average over 300 shows a year in the Mpls/St. Paul area, and now have an ambitious full-time U.S. and international schedule. In recent years they have performed in 41 states, 2 Canadian provinces and 10 European countries. With influences ranging from Fats Domino and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band to Aretha Franklin and Tom Waits, the band is converting audiences one show at a time. So much more than just a blues act, DATV’s shows are filled with New Orleans charm, Memphis soul swagger, dark theatrical moments that evoke Kurt Weill, and tender gospel passages. Davina’s voice and stage presence defy category in a different way. Davina has been compared to Etta James, Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin, Billie Holiday and Betty Boop, but comparisons don’t suffice. Lozier is a true original.
