The Dakota’s July Artist Wine Lunch is July 9th, and Zaccagnini wines will be featured. Our guest artists will be beloved favorites The New Standards and Manou from Zaccagnini winery. Imagine sitting down for lunch with The New Standards and a 3 course menu designed by our Chef Derik Moran, paired with wines from Zaccagnini by our Sommelier Martina Priadka. Guests also receive a truffle created by Pastry Chef Katie Elsing. This experience can be yours for $39.

The New Standards are a rock and jazz trio known for their personality-laden brand of performance and extraordinary musicality. Each member, coming from backgrounds in pop, rock, and jazz, brings something unique to the project: John Munson on string bass and vocals, a founding member of legendary and chart-topping bands Trip Shakespeare and Semisonic, brings melodious rock-steady chops; Chan Poling, the leader of the Twin Cities 80’s band The Suburbs is the crooner and rock-shouter with pianistic firepower; bespectacled Steve Roehm, the band’s secret geek weapon, climbs jazzy heights on his vibraphone.  Maybe you were a fan of these musicians back in the 80’s – now’s your chance to have lunch with them!

Zaccagnini was established in 1978 as a family run business in Bolognano, a tiny medieval town in Abruzzi (on the “calf” of the boot of Italy). Over the past 34 years, the winery grew fast, upholding the mantra “absolute quality, from cluster to glass.” With fervor, a high level product and commitment, the winery has become the “pride of Abruzzi,” with 70% of its production bound for international markets in 36 countries.   Marcello Zaccagnini showed the passion plainly when he said “Wine, the man’s art.”

The three courses and the featured wines from Zaccagnini  will be:

Cantina Zaccagnini, Il Vino “dal tralcetto,” Pinot Grigio
Light yellow, delicate bouquet, fragrant with extremely pleasant aromas.  Very fresh and well-balanced flavors and a crisp and elegant finish.

SECOND COURSE PANZANELLA

burrata . grilled onion . mizuna . rosemary

Cantina Zaccagnini, Il Vino “dal tralcetto,” Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2010
Deep violet hue, aromas of plum and blackberry with flavors of berries, leather, pepper, herbs and vanilla. Dry and smooth finish.
MAIN COURSE
DRY AGED BEEF RIBEYE

artichoke . haricot vert . basi. . smoked tomato . olive

Villadoria, Bricco Magno Langhe Nebbiolo 2010
Ruby red with garnet sparkles. Flowers, vanilla and chocolate aromas with warm, sturdy, round flavors and a balanced finish with notes of wood.
