Beverly McClellan

Soulful Singer-Songwriter Powerhouse

Beverly McClellan, a soulful singer with honest lyrics and a raw sound who is wonderfully eclectic, has been entertaining the nation for years. It all started for Bev back in Kingsport, TN when, at the age of four, Bev started playing the piano and knew she just had to do more. Even though she loves and looks up to her mother and Dolly Parton as musical idols, her major non-musical inspiration would be her grandmother, a full-blooded first-generation Native American Indian on her father’s side, but sadly never met. To honor her, she now has 13 tattoos representing a variety of different aspects of her grandmother’s heritage.

She started playing professionally at the age of 24 and is inspired by all aspects of music. Even though she fancies Dolly Parton, she plays and sings the most in-pitch/in-tone songs by such artists as Melissa Etheridge, Ani DiFranco, The Indigo Girls, BB King and Etta James. She can now play a variety of instruments including: piano, guitar, trumpet, French horn, mandolin, ukulele, bass, djembe, and a wide variety of drums are now her favorite recent discoveries.

Beverly’s fifth album, Fear Nothing, was recorded with Grammy Award winning producer, David Z, who has several multi-platinum records under his belt – having produced the likes of Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Etta James, Prince, and The Time.

Bev won the NY National Music Festival 2004 Best Overall Performer, beating out more than 500 contestants worldwide and most recently was one of the final four contestants on NBC’s smash hit television show, The Voice.

What Other People Have Been Saying...

“Beverly is a vocal powerhouse to be reckoned with, who holds her own with the best of them.” -Christina Aguilera

“Working solo on acoustic guitar or piano, ‘The Voice’ finalist filled the room with her warmth, personality and sound. She impressed with her conviction, confidence and control of her rangy, raspy voice (she doesn’t overdo the power)… She’s got big-time potential.” – Jon Bream, Star Tribune
