British Rock Legend
Dave Mason is one of the true legends of rock music. As a founding member of Traffic and original member of Derek and the Dominos, Mason expanded the sonic palette of rock music in previously unheard of ways. As a solo performer he has had great success, with millions of records sold and a number of hit singles. Always growing as a performer, his acoustic trio tour finds Mason in top form, re-imagining his classic Traffic tunes and touching on other points in his career.
In 1967 Mason joined up with Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi and Chris Wood to form Traffic. Mason proved to be a perfect foil to Winwood, with a mellower voice and whimsical songs, and his obvious virtuosity on sitar, vocals, and guitar made his contributions to the band valuable. Mason spent three short stints in this influential but ultimately short-lived band, which was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
