For the sake of discovery and due diligence, the songwriter and singer Joe Henry will play a small handful of solo/acoustic shows in early December.
The tour will find him in Minneapolis, Chicago, Ann Arbor, and Seattle (all cities in which the artist maintains abiding friendships with gifted restauranteurs, if you are curious as to the routing).
The evening’s repertoire will feature songs from throughout his checkered and confusing career, as well as new songs from a newly minted and forthcoming album.
These shows will stand as four of very few that Mr. Henry has ever played alone by his own volition, during a professional history that spans some 27 years.
Requests always welcome, though shall be ignored as necessary.

What Other People Have Been Saying...
“[Henry] has moved into a space that only he and Tom Waits inhabit in that they are songwriters who have created deep archetypal characters that are composites—metaphorical, allegorical, and ‘real’—of the world around them and have created new sonic universes for them to both explore and express themselves in… a triumph not only for Henry—who has set a new watermark for himself—but for American popular music, which so desperately needed something else to make it sing again.” -Thom Jurek, All Music
