Progressive Folk Duo
Classically trained musicians from the Midwest, Olivia and Karla started thinking outside the box in 2012, joining forces as string players for insightful and inspiring musical experiences that challenge their formal training. Experimenting with Irish fiddle, bluegrass, jazz, and popular music, they are self described as a progressive folk duo, writing original music inspired by these multiple genres.
Influences range from artists such as Eileen Ivers, Nickel Creek, and the musicians of The Goat Rodeo Sessions album, to Regina Carter, Gaelic Storm, Andy Grammer, and Tracy Silverman. Always looking to continue evolving as musicians, The OK Factor desires to serve others through performances, music education, recording projects, travel, and in personal everyday encounters.
