Please join the JazzMN Orchestra for a rare club performance at the Dakota to benefit JazzMN’s educational outreach program.
JazzMN’s educational outreach program is central to JazzMN’s mission to promote the jazz art form. The program fosters opportunities for students to learn and experience jazz through sponsored clinics, master classes, and playing alongside our professional artists. This exposure may lead to a future in the arts, or simply forge a lifelong appreciation of jazz.
JazzMN patrons have long desired to hear the band outside the concert hall. The Dakota’s intimate setting, the searing band let loose, and Connie Evingson’s fabulous vocal stylings will sate that desire. This atmosphere offers more room for soloists such as Dave Karr, Pete Whitman, Kathy Jensen, Dave Jensen and Dave Graf to play while Joe Pulice drives the band.
Music begins at 7 pm, but guests are encouraged to arrive anytime after 5:30pm to enjoy the Dakota’s award-winning menu. In addition to the full menu our Chef’s feature that evening will be a prix fixe $39 3 course menu:
1st Course – Pan Seared Massachusetts Day Boat Scallop with parsnip, brussels sprout, bacon, pine cone syrup
Main Course – Grilled Pork Tenderloin with demi-sec tomato, polenta, goat cheese, fig
Dessert – Brown Butter-Chocolate Ganache with maple mouse, pecan crumble
Tickets are $50 per person (dinner not included) and are available through the Dakota box office. You can also choose your seating at that time. As an added bonus for your support of this worthy cause, the first 100 tickets sold will receive a special JazzMN Orchestra token of appreciation the night of the event.

The JazzMN Orchestra will perform at the Dakota Jazz Club & Restaurant on September 18th as a fund raiser for the JazzMN Foundation’s Outreach Education Fund. Committed to keeping America’s indigenous art form alive through education and interaction with the next generation of musicians, JazzMN seeks to raise funds for student workshops, to be conducted throughout the state through a collaboration among JazzMN musicians, visiting internationally-known artists, and local educators. These clinics will provide students with the opportunity to learn from and potentially perform with the Jazz MN Orchestra in concert settings…..read more
