Abdullah Ibrahim, piano Cleave Guyton, alto saxophone, flute Keith Loftis, tenor saxophone Jason Marshall, baritone saxophone Andrae Murchison, trombone Belden Bullock, bass George Gray, drums The great Nelson Mandela described Cape Town-born piano legend Abdullah Ibrahim as “South Africa’s Mozart.” He has had a staggering 50-album career,  recording in settings ranging from solo to orchestral music and soundtrack work. He formed his septet Ekaya in the early 1980s, recording their debut album in 1983. Ibrahim brings the current incarnation of this superb ensemble for these two shows. Stateside performances by Abdullah Ibrahim are a rare occurrence, and this promises an unforgettable experience with a living jazz legend.
