About Benny Weinbeck
Pianist Benny Weinbeck has performed, composed and arranged music for over 25 years in this town and many others. He has worked with some of the top musicians and producers in the music industry. His several self-produced recordings highlight his compositions as well as his piano chops. Involved in film scoring, corporate projects, and teaching at Macalester College, he has also produced 4 albums of original compositions and one of solo piano jazz standards and has appeared on Gordon Johnson’s critically praised album, “Trios V1. and V3″. (with Steve Gadd on drums). His four self-produced albums of his compositions have had extensive airplay and have been used in several television and radio ads. His most recent release is a solo jazz piano album of famous jazz standards, and was 26 weeks on KBEM-FM jazz radio in Minneapolis. Always a class act, we like to think of Benny as Minneapolis’ version of Bobby Short.
