About Candy Dulfer

Dutch saxophonist Candy Dulfer is known around the world for her powerful, high-energy concerts. She has collaborated with top artists, performed with her own band across the world in sold-out clubs and on the largest festival stages, and received a GRAMMY Award nomination for her debut album Saxuality. She has also sold over 2.5 million albums worldwide and has had several number-one hits in the United States.

Dulfer rose to fame with high-profile collaborations with Dave Stewart (“Lily Was Here”) and Prince. Alongside Prince, she performed at The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, played dozens of shows in the States and all over Europe, and recorded on several of the late musician’s albums. Together with Prince and Beyoncé, she performed at the GRAMMY Awards ceremony.

With the release of her album Crazy in the fall of 2011, Dulfer started another exciting new chapter in her versatile career. Her close collaboration with Black Eyed Peas musical director and producer Printz Board formed the foundation of the daring new sound of the album. After the album’s release, she and her band toured the United States, Japan, Europe, Russia, the Baltic States, and—for the first time in her career—South America.

She also started a close tie-up with leading fashion brand Mexx, playing special in-store shows at their stores across Europe and releasing a special fashion collection designed by Dulfer herself. In 2013, she served as a celebrity judge and talent coach on the Dutch edition of the reality television talent show The X Factor.

At the end of 2013, Dulfer and her longtime friends Trijntje Oosterhuis, Edsilia Rombley, Berget Lewis, and Glennis Grace formed the supergroup Ladies of Soul. Following their hit single “I’ll Carry You” in 2014, they performed two sold-out shows at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, entertaining over thirty-four thousand fans. The resulting live album and DVD, Live at the Ziggo Dome, captured the magic of those nights and was released in the same year, going straight to number one on the Album and iTunes charts. Dulfer and her energetic band continue to play festivals and venues across Europe, the United States, and Japan and to tour the world, while she works on a book about her life.

“Probably the only musician to have worked with Prince, Pink Floyd, Beyoncé and Van Morrison, this Dutch sax player obviously has the chops to fit in anywhere.”
Krakow Post

“For Candy Dulfer, arguably the most commercially successful female saxophonist ever, the answer seems to include first-rate musicianship combined with a healthy dose of stage presence.”
