The Mandolin Prakash Trio is a newly-formed Carnatic-Flamenco Fusion ensemble based on a strong confluence of the traditional South Indian classical art form fused with Spanish motifs and other world percussions. The sound derived is based on the joyous feet-tapping rhythm motifs of Spanish/Flamenco guitars fused with the exciting polyrhythm of south India and the melodic intricacies of raga. The Indian meeting of Afro-Latin rhythm is channeled through virtuosic flights and improvisational forms.
