Padma Veeraraghavan, who is a disciple of yester-year stalwarts Ariyakudi Sri. Ramanuja Iyengar and Palghat Sri K.V.Narayanaswamy.
Prakash Hariharan, is a carnatic mandolin artist, a versatile composer and a performing musician. He plays an array of world string instruments, including the ruan, oud, prim and the other variants of the lute family. His roots in the rich Indian classical music aid him to perform across several genres culminating as an experimental world sound. He collaborates with a culturally diverse set of musicians and performs with them. Additionally, he sessions as a studio artist for feature films and music productions.
The Mandolin Prakash Trio is a newly-formed Carnatic-Flamenco Fusion ensemble based on a strong confluence of the traditional South Indian classical art form fused with Spanish motifs and other world percussions. The sound derived is based on the joyous feet-tapping rhythm motifs of Spanish/Flamenco guitars fused with the exciting polyrhythm of south India and the melodic intricacies of raga. The Indian meeting of Afro-Latin rhythm is channeled through virtuosic flights and improvisational forms.
