About The Girls
The Girls, Lori Dokken, Judi Vinar, Debbie Duncan, Erin Schwab, Patty Peterson, and Rachel Holder-Hennig, have been cooking up new arrangements filled with the fabulous six part harmonies that Twin Cities audiences have been eating up for the past several years.
Lori Dokken, the undisputed master of piano bar entertainment in the Minneapolis, St. Paul community, can be found entertaining at various venues each week in the area. No one knows how to cure the winter blues more than Minnesota native, Lori. A local cabaret singer and pianist for almost three decades, Dokken has played and appealed to the patrons of every major and minor music venue in Minneapolis and St. Paul. The “Beloved Twin Cities singer and pianist” (Minneapolis StarTribune) entertains with an eccentric charm, talent and wit that embraces an audience like an old friend. As a featured headliner, producer, musical director and cabaret performer she has traveled the world to perform in such places as Brazil, Argentina, Greece, Europe, Alaska, Thailand, Puerto Rico, Mexico and numerous Caribbean locations. Lori has won numerous awards, her most beloved being “Best Musician of 1999” and Best Local Band/Group of 2006 (“the girls”). Others include: Honorable Mention Award – The John Lennon Songwriting Contest – 2001, the WCCO Radio “Good Neighbor” Award, Eleven Who Care Nominee – KARE 11 (NBC Affiliate) The Thomas S. Hansen Humanitarian Award for Community Service. 1994 Grand Marshall of GLBT Pride Parade with Minnesota Senator Allen Spear and the Community Service Award from The Imperial Sovereign Court of The Ice Castle -ISCIC.
Patty Peterson is a dynamic vocalist and a radio personality. She is a world class jazz/ R&B singer, a radio jazz show host on KBEM Jazz 88 in Minneapolis, is a mainstay in the radio jingle and voice over industry. She has performed to sold out audiences all over the country, and has seven Minnesota Music awards to her credit.
Judi Donaghy Vinar has lived in the Twin Cities since 1987, and has performed with many of the region’s finest: Bobby McFerrin’s Voicestra, Lori Dokken, The Wolverines Classic Jazz Orchestra, St. Croix Jazz Orchestra, JazzMN Big Band, and many others.
Erin Schwab brings a vast musical theater background and is the anchor of the humor department. For several years she played “Tina” in “Tony & Tina’s Wedding” and has appeared in productions all across the Twin Cities, from The Ordway to The Bryant Lake Bowl.
Debbie Duncan, the Twin cities “First Lady of Song” as she is so often referred to by media people, club owners and dj’s, is a stunning and versatile vocalist who captivates audiences and jazz musicians. Minneapolis Star Tribune reports “She’s superb on funky upbeat workouts, tender ballads an all kinds of jazz numbers; she energizes the ordinary and puts her stamp on just about everything she does.”
Rachel Holder-Hennig has nearly a decade of performing behind her. She can be seen performing with The Wolverines, The George Maurer Group, Vital Organ, Reception Jazz, The Modd Squad, The Bruce Henry Band, The Girls and several other groups in the Twin Cities.
