About Vanessa Trouble

This Winona native returns home from New York for one special show!

Vanessa Trouble has been singing and producing shows with numerous artists for over a decade. Residing in New York City she has honed her vocal and performance skills all over the country, and abroad, fronting various jazz ensembles in New York, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Atlanta, New Orleans, London, Paris, Ireland, Norway and Asia. In the summer of 2008, Vanessa was the opening and headlining artist in the Four Seasons Hotel at the Diplomat Lounge, as well as performing regularly at the Venetian Hotel & Casino in Macao, China, for a three-month engagement.

Vanessa Trouble and her band recently capped her long and storied career entertaining Jennifer Lopez and friends for the star’s 40th birthday celebration in July, 2009. Her New York and Los Angeles zip codes, her voice and her reputation as an engaging and accessible vocal artist have given her an entrée to high profile events, performing for politicos, celebrities and business moguls.

“Vanessa really gives it when she sings. We party like it’s 1929,” say JB Miller, referencing Vanessa’s affinity towards traditional jazz selections and who’s company, Empire Entertainment has produced some of the events and parties that have included performances for Bill Gates, Clark Terry, Dana Carvey, Penny Marshall, Quincy Jones, Melissa Etheridge, Tom Selleck, Ron Perelman, and former New York Governor George Pataki.

Expect to hear traditional jazz standards reminiscent of the classic Verve recordings of the Ella Fitzgerald-Louie Armstrong pairings from the 1950s, as well as songs from her two CD’s, 1999’s The Summer Sessions and 2004’s Too Darn Hot.
