Brandy was born on February 11, 1979, and is a household name in the music industry. Known as the “Vocal Bible”, she has sold over 40 million albums and has earned several awards and accolades.

Monica Denise Arnold, born October 24, 1980, is an American singer, rapper, and actress. Also, Monica has sold 5.3 million albums and has also earned several awards and accolades.

Three-time grammy award winner Jamecia Bennett is CEO of Minnesota Movement Entertainment. Here, she puts on her production hat to produce an epic tribute of these two phenomenal young women. Brandy and Monica’s music has been part of the 90s R&B soul soundtrack to our lives. This new show features two of the Twin Cities standout local talents, Bree Turner & Monique Blakey. Jamecia Bennett hand-picked these women knowing that they would deliver a compelling tribute to these R&B divas.

A local theatre and music icon, Bennett was named the Ordway Theater’s first resident artist. She received this title for the 2020-21 Broadway at the Ordway season. Furthermore, she is a member of the Penumbra Theatre and the New Dawn Theatre. She is also a Park Square Theater favorite for her portrayal of Sister Rosetta Tharpe in Marie and Rosetta. Moreover, Jamecia is an NAACP Image Award winner with Sounds of Blackness, the internationally acclaimed group for which she is the lead vocalist.
