“She delivers an amazingly smoky, soulful vocal and pays it off with a blistering guitar excursion to close it out.”
– Glide Magazine
Born in the Black Country and discovered at age 16 by Eurythmics’ co-founder Dave Stewart, Joanne Shaw Taylor has spent a decade releasing increasingly successful albums and touring the world. Along the way, she has won over fans from Joe Bonamassa to Stevie Wonder to Annie Lennox.
In addition to garnering multiple best female vocalist prizes in the British Blues Awards, she’s also been recognized as its songwriter of the year, and her albums consistently place in the Billboard Top Ten charts in the U.S.
Effective immediately, all performances at the Dakota will require either proof of a full course of COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken in the prior 72 hours. Patrons must have a completed COVID-19 vaccination card or a photo of their card, with their final dose at least fourteen days prior to the event, or a negative COVID-19 test result from 72 hours or less prior to the event. Masks are REQUIRED to be worn indoors except for the purposes of eating, drinking, or performing on stage. Thank you for helping to keep everyone safe. More COVID Policy details here >>
The good-time grooves of vintage, British blues-rock are given a modern makeover, while Joanne’s most powerful, yet intimate vocals to date take their cue from the gritty soul greats (Aretha, Tina, Mavis Staples) she grew up on.
