After 14 years atop the DownBeat Critics Poll and eight Jazz Journalists Association awards for Male Singer of the Year, Kurt Elling can safely be called the top male jazz vocalist of his generation. In this program, the Chicago-born baritone pays tribute to personal heroes including Frank Sinatra, Jon Hendricks, Billy Eckstine and Nancy Wilson. The play list will include “Come Fly With Me,” “You Are Too Beautiful,” “I Like the Sunrise,” “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love,” “Nature Boy” and other selections.
