SUMMARY:Pam Tillis
DESCRIPTION:“vocal prowess… understated brilliance” – L.A. Times\n  \nShe’s the daughter of country music legend Mel Tillis and multi-media artist Doris Tillis. Artists in country\, R&B\, bluegrass and rock have covered her original compositions. Additionally\, she’s an actor with a long list of film\, TV and stage credits. However\, Pam Tillis sidestepped any notions of nepotism and other “isms” that women in show business often face. Then\, she carved out her own unique space as an entertainer. \nTillis’ 1991 debut country album\, Put Yourself In My Place\, went gold. Further\, it yielded two Number One and two Top Five singles. Her next three albums: Homeward Looking Angel\, Sweetheart’s Dance and Greatest Hits\, were all certified platinum. Moreover\, she scored six Number One songs during the‘90s country explosion. These include “Shake the Sugar Tree\,” “Mi Vida Loca\,” “When You Walk InThe Room\,” “In Between Dances\,” and “Don’t Tell Me What To Do.” Also\, her signature song\, “Maybe It Was Memphis.” \n“It’s a hard thing to put your finger on\,” she says\, describing the enduring appeal of “Memphis.” “It’s a great melody and a cinematic lyric. It’s romantic\, but it rocks. And it’s a great vocal vehicle.” Country fans agree\, and so have several aspiring artists. There\, contestants on both American Idol and The Voice have used the song to showcase their talents. \nThe music muse still provides inspiration and accolades. Here\, Tillis is one of the 2022 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame nominees. “It’s a huge honor\,” she says. “My dad is in the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. He would be so proud.” \nRecommended for fans of Lorrie Morgan\, Kathy Mattea\, Patty Loveless & Suzy Bogguss.

SUMMARY:Lee Roy Parnell w/ Special Guest Goldpine
DESCRIPTION:“All Lee Roy Parnell does is write great songs” – Pop Matters\n  \nNo Depression may have said it best when they called Lee Roy Parnell “a fine writer blessed with a rich\, soulful vocal delivery and a blistering array of guitar chops drawn almost equally from Texas blues\, Memphis soul\, and Southern rock traditions.” \nParnell is part of a long line of Texas roots-music eclectics. However\, he is among the elite few who can be identified as a triple threat. First\, he’s an ace guitarist who is known as one of the best slide guitarists on the planet. Also\, his music includes blue-eyed soul\, Delta blues\, roadhouse rock\, Southern boogie\, Texas swing\, country and gospel. Parnell draws from a broad range of musical sources and combines them with seamless dexterity. Also\, unlike many other hard-to-pigeonhole artists\, Parnell has enjoyed a run of success on the country and blues charts. \nAfter honing his skills over more than a decade of playing clubs\, Parnell laid a new foundation in Nashville. Then\, upon earning a regular spot at the famed Bluebird Café and a publishing contract\, Parnell launched his solo career. There\, he scored many country hits including “A Little Bit Of You” (Number One hit). Also\, “What Kind of Fools Do You Think I Am” & “Tender Moment” (both Number Two hits). Additionally\, four other Top Ten hits: “Love Without Mercy”\, “On The Road”\, “I’m Holding My Own”\, and “Heart’s Desire”. Further\, Parnell has earned two Grammy nominations for his instrumental tracks. \nGoldpine: bold + gold harmonies straight from Nashville. Winner of the Rocky Mountain Songwriter Contest and seen on NPR’s Mountain Stage. Their brand of “aggressive Americana” is a flawless channel for their bold and reminiscent compositions. Husband and wife of sixteen years\, Goldpine just released their third album\, appropriately titled Three. \nRecommended for fans of Rodney Crowell\, Rosanne Cash\, Marty Stuart and Kathy Mattea. \n📸: Jeff Fasano
