SUMMARY:Sounds of Santana
DESCRIPTION:An electrifying 7-piece band playing Carlos Santana’s hits.\n  \nGuitarist Joe Cruz leads an electrifying 7-piece band playing Carlos Santana’s best-known hits. Here\, he does this amidst guitar shredding and storytelling about Santana’s life and legacy. \nThe authentically passionate Joe Cruz and his pyrotechnic playing are a wonder to watch. Moreover\, he displays his love of his own Mexican heritage and lifelong Latin-infused musical style. The dynamic Sounds of Santana band is made up of lead electric guitar\, electric bass\, drums\, and organ. Also\, two Latin percussionists and Spanish/English vocal performances.  \nGroove along with classics including “Black Magic Woman\,” “Evil Ways\,” and “Oye Como Va.” Additionally\, radio hits including Santana’s collaborations with Michelle Branch “The Game Of Love” and the Rob Thomas summer smash\, “Smooth”.  \nJoe Cruz has been a mainstay of the Twin Cities music and theater scene for over four decades. Here\, this musical chameleon demonstrates his remarkable versatility\, effortlessly transitioning between various musical styles. He’ll strum an acoustic guitar one moment\, then shred on an electric the next. Also\, he ranges from intricate bluegrass mandolin to Cuban tres to Puerto Rican cuatro. Moreover\, Joe’s musical prowess is truly exceptional. In addition to performing his original songs and instrumental compositions\, he also collaborates with his wife\, singer Jennifer Grimm. There\, they are the popular duo “Grimm and Cruz.” Also\, Joe embraces his Mexican roots with his Santana tribute show\, “Sounds of Santana”. Additionally\, his “Cruzando” project pays homage to the legendary Latin standards. \nRecommended for fans of Santana\, Eric Clapton\, The Eagles and Jimi Hendrix.

SUMMARY:Blood\, Sweat & Tears
DESCRIPTION:“musical mixture of classical\, jazz\, and rock” – AllMusic\n  \nNo one can argue Blood\, Sweat & Tears invented a new style of music. BS&T is not the first band to ever use a horn section\, but they are the first to fuse it with rock\, jazz\, and some blues thrown in for good measure. \nThe first version of the band\, in the late sixties\, would practice in a loft in New York’s Greenwich Village. Crowds would gather on the street below and applaud between songs! Founding member and drummer Bobby Colomby knew they had hit on something special. Since then\, the band has never stopped touring for over fifty years. \nThe first Blood\, Sweat & Tears album\, Child is Father to the Man\, was released to little fanfare. After the band member changes (notably replacing the lead singer)\, the second album\, Blood Sweat & Tears\, was a success. It rose to the top of the charts for seven weeks and yielded three top 5 singles. The album received the Grammy for Album of the Year in 1970\, beating out the Beatles’ Abbey Road. That album went on to earn quadruple Platinum status\, with sales of well over 4 million units and induction into the Grammy Hall of Fame. In total\, the band has received ten Grammy nominations\, winning three.  \nBlood Sweat & Tears performed on Sunday\, August 17\, 1969\, at Woodstock\, the same day as Jimi Hendrix and other great bands. \nBlood Sweat & Tears has had many configurations over its fifty-plus years of touring but one thing for sure is that the music is timeless\, and fans are never disappointed. BS&T tours with the greatest musicians available\, stars in their own right (most coming off major tours with other artists).  \nTo this day Bobby Colomby still hand-picks the musicians for every tour. Colomby still uses the same theory: “Great Musicians Make Great Music”. \nRecommended for fans of Chicago\, Tower of Power\, Traffic and Steely Dan.

SUMMARY:Toronzo Cannon
DESCRIPTION:“exceptionally gifted… man\, he can play” – Blues Blast\n  \n“I want my songs to be heard and experienced\, not just listened to\,” says cliché-defying\, internationally beloved Chicago bluesman Toronzo Cannon. Cannon is on the cutting edge of today’s contemporary blues scene. Further\, critics hail him as one of the genre’s most creative artists. Fans love him for his richly detailed\, truth-telling original songs\, blistering\, inventive guitar work and impassioned vocals. \nHere\, his heroes inspire his sound. For example\, Hound Dog Taylor\, Muddy Waters\, Elmore James\, Albert King\, Son Seals and Jimi Hendrix. Moreover\, on his latest release\, 2024’s Shut Up And Play!\, Cannon blazes his own path with eleven emotionally charged originals. Thus\, his powerful\, cathartic guitar solos and his soulfully authoritative voice fuel his imaginative songs. \nShut Up And Play! features Cannon\, a former Chicago bus driver\, delivering timeless stories of common experiences. Further\, his lyrics are set ablaze by his passionate and focused guitar playing. Here\, Cannon sings of the heartbreak of lost love\, the humor of daily life\, and the pain of feeling invisible. Chicago’s New City declared\, “Toronzo Cannon spins the innate human capacity of misery and regret into a kind of furious ecstasy.” \n“I write what I know\, what I feel\,” Cannon says. “Listen to the lyrics. I am a Black man in America. These are NOT protest songs. I try to create honest\, common sense understanding with my songs.” \nCannon has earned ten Blues Music Award nominations. Further\, as his fan base expands\, so do his friendships with famous musicians. Gary Clark\, Jr. declared\, “Toronzo is a beast. He lights the room up.” Also\, Joe Bonamassa rightly pronounced\, “Toronzo’s a great guitar player\, excellent vocalist and an amazing personality.” \nRecommended for fans of Lonnie Brooks\, Walter Trout\, Bernard Allison and Corey Stevens.

Entering their third decade\, they are adept at mixing rock\, blues\, roots and soul sounds. Led by veteran songwriter/guitarist Terry Walsh\, the Cowboys have flourished in the renowned Minnesota music scene. They have consistently packed houses and wowed crowds since 2002. \nTerry Walsh got his start playing in various Twin Cities rock bands.
