SUMMARY:Tina Turns 60 - The Retrospective & Beyond
DESCRIPTION:“one of the most potent singers to ever come out of the Twin Cities.” – Star Tribune\n  \nMidwestern rock and soul icon Tina Schlieske is coming home to celebrate a monumental milestone: her sixtieth birthday. Also\, she’s doing it the only way she knows how. Here\, she’ll be on stage\, with raw power\, timeless elegance\, and a fierce\, diamond-sharp brilliance that has only grown stronger with time. \nFor four decades\, Tina has captivated the Twin Cities as the powerhouse front person of Tina and the B-Sides. There\, she threw down high-octane rock\, gritty blues\, and earth-shaking soul. But like a finely cut diamond\, her talent has many facets. Here\, she’s fresh off her stunning jazz evolution and the release of her acclaimed album\, 2024’s The Good Life. Further\, Tina returns to the Dakota stage to map out her incredible musical journey. \nMoreover\, these shows will traverse her deep catalog. Here\, she seamlessly moves from the raucous rock-and-roll anthems that built her legacy to the sultry\, late-night swing and torch standards of her modern jazz era. Then\, Tina will share the songs\, the stories\, and the defiant spirit of a true hometown legend turning sixty. Backed by an incredible ensemble of musicians\, experience an iconic vocalist at the absolute peak of her powers. \nDon’t miss this unforgettable night of celebration\, reflection\, and peerless live music. \nRecommended for fans of Indigo Girls\, Etta James\, Lucinda Williams and Melissa Etheridge.

SUMMARY:John Scofield's Electrospective
DESCRIPTION:“Scofield is one of the most prolific and admired jazz musicians of his generation” – NPR\n  \nThrough his fifty-four-year career\, three-time Grammy Award winner John Scofield has occasionally detoured from the traditions of straight-ahead jazz. There\, he explores a blend of funk and jazz that has led to some of his most popular projects. In 2026\, Scofield looks back at many of his now classic fusion groove compositions with Electrospective.  \nNot intending to replicate earlier fan favorites\, he plans instead to revisit them with the seasoned perspective of several decades. Here\, he culls tunes from his Blue Matter\, Uberjam\, and AGoGo bands\, each responsible for a few recordings. Additionally\, he will play new material in the same vein.  \nMoreover\, Scofield looks forward to teaming up with a stellar band of colleagues. Electrospective will rely on interpretative input from Scofield alum and super funk drummer/producer Adam Deitch (Lettuce). Also\, multidimensional Larry Goldings (Scary Goldings\, James Taylor) on keyboards. Additionally\, legendary bassist Oteil Burbridge (Dead & Co.\, Tedeschi Trucks\, Allman Brothers). With this repertoire so frequently (and loudly) requested by audience members\, Scofield is glad to have a band that will truly do the music justice. \nRecommended for fans of Pat Metheny\, Lettuce\, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and Medeski\, Martin & Wood.

SUMMARY:An Evening with Lucinda Williams & Her Band: World's Gone Wrong Tour
DESCRIPTION:Acoustic Shows with Lucinda Williams & Her Band:\nBlues\, Ballads & More: A Quiet Night with Lucinda Williams & Her Band\nNOV 16 • 7:00pm Performance \nBlues\, Ballads & More: A Quiet Night with Lucinda Williams & Her Band\nNOV 17 • 7:00pm Performance \n\n“perfect… clearly in a league of her own” – Chicago Reader\n  \n“My dad\, as a poet\, always told me to never censor myself – that’s one of his cardinal rules of creative writing\,” says multiple-Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams. “That became my motto which I’ve stuck by all these years.” Miller Williams’ advice clearly is borne out on Lucinda’s powerful eighteenth studio album\, 2026’s provocative World’s Gone Wrong. “I felt a sense of urgency in making this record\,” she adds. \nFilled with gut-wrenching topical songs\, the album’s ten tracks were written and recorded in a blast of collaborative creativity. There\, Lucinda and her co-writers – primarily husband/manager/co-producer Tom Overby and guitarist Doug Pettibone – grappled with the events of spring 2025. Moreover\, a whole other album had been in the works. However\, the “urgency” to address our current cataclysmic situation motivated Lucinda and company to cut World’s Gone Wrong in direct response. “Music is a powerful weapon\,” she points out. “I want this record to make people aware\, wake them up. I like to push people’s buttons.” \nAnd that’s what Lucinda fans have come to depend on over the past forty-five years. Her back catalog boasts remarkable albums\, including 1998’s game-changing Car Wheels on a Gravel Road. Additionally\, she’s earned three Grammy awards and countless accolades\, including Time Magazine naming her America’s Best Songwriter in 2001. Here\, Williams is one of our most revered artists\, beloved for her singular vocals and extraordinary songs. And in these troubling times\, we need the light she shines on World’s Gone Wrong more than ever before. \nRecommended for fans of Emmylou Harris\, Gillian Welch\, Steve Earle & Bob Dylan. \n📸: Mark Seliger

SUMMARY:Jorma Kaukonen
DESCRIPTION:“a pioneer of San Francisco psychedelia” – Rolling Stone\n  \nJorma Kaukonen is one of the most highly respected interpreters of American roots music\, blues\, and rock. His storied career has already spanned a half-century. He is also a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and a Grammy recipient. Jorma was at the forefront of popular rock and roll\, one of the founders of the San Francisco sound and a progenitor of Psychedelic Rock. He is a founding member of two legendary bands\, Jefferson Airplane and the still-touring Hot Tuna.  \nJorma Kaukonen is a music legend and one of the finest singer-songwriters in his field. He continues to tour\, bringing his unique styling to old blues tunes while presenting new songs of weight and dimension. His secret is in playing spontaneous\, unfiltered music\, with an individual expression of personality. In 2016\, Jorma\, Jack Casady and the other members of Jefferson Airplane received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. This was to recognize their contributions to American music. \nIn 2019 St. Martin’s Press published Jorma‘s autobiography\, Been So Long: My Life and Music. He wrote this to express his life both in and out of the music world. As Kaukonen describes\, “My story is my story. Having told bits and pieces of it over my lifetime to a treasured few\, it was time to tell all to a bigger audience… From rehearsals and jams in small apartments and tiny back rooms to Monterey\, Woodstock\, Altamont\, the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame\, the world of the Grammys and beyond… this is part of the road I live on. This is my embryonic journey and much\, much more!” \nRecommended for fans of Hot Tuna\, Jefferson Airplane\, Leo Kottke and Doc Watson.
