Call 612.332.5299 or Click Here for tickets

Ever since his early days as front man for the Lost Planet Airmen, Commander Cody has been a truly unique and iconoclastic figure. His special blend of old-time rock ‘n’ roll, country, boogie-woogie, R&B and Western swing have virtually defined American roots music. The band’s straightforward energy was evident on their debut single, 1968’s “Hot Rod Lincoln,” and is still on display at their blistering live shows. After 23 years away from the studio, Cody returned in 2009 with Dopers, Drunks, and Everyday Losers, a collection of new songs and CC classics.

Although he points to gospel greats Mahalia Jackson, Tramaine Hawkins, and Vanessa Bell Armstrong as inspiration, Robert Robinson works and lives in his own genre, combining his ministry of gospel with a vast experience rooted in soul. Artists look to him for affirmation. Fans adore his inclusive personality. They don’t necessarily have to embrace gospel to embrace Robert, and that is alright with him. It’s all about his soul.

FB Mike Doughty

Mike Doughty plays Soul Coughing’s Irresistible Bliss

July 7 & 8 | 7 & 9:30pm

TICKETS ON SALE WEDNESDAY, MAY 17TH

As the leader of one of the most unique bands of the 1990s, Soul Coughing, Doughty’s music became part of the soundtrack to the decade with a fusion of rock, beatnik-inspired lyrics, and elements of hip-hop and electronic music. After breaking up the band in 2000, Doughty rented a car and toured the country by himself, covering 9000 miles while rediscovering his acoustic roots and love for songwriting. Mike has spoken at length about the difference between his original conception of songs and what ended up on SC records; here he has complete control, and overhauls his own songs to great effect.
