Canadian guitarist Donna Grantis is best known for performing with Prince & 3RDEYEGIRL and the New Power Generation. Continuing in that spirit, but now with a plethora of knowledge and experience gained from working alongside the greatest musical mentor of our time, she is ready to debut her newest musical project as a bandleader. Rooted in blues, with a rock edge and a jazz sensibility, Grantis cites Prince, Hendrix, Jeff Beck and John Scofield as prominent influences. With a passion for music produced during Miles Davis’ “Electric Period” from the 1970s, Grantis seeks to create an exploratory musical platform, both ethereal and groove based.

FB John McEuen

John McEuen and Friends: Will The Circle Be Unbroken
August 18 | 7pm
Call Or Click For Tickets

A founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, John McEuen has continually performed since 1964 – 8,500 concerts and 300 television shows throughout more than 3 million miles – with the band and as a solo performer. Beyond performing, he has a rich history of creating, producing and preserving original and traditional folk and acoustic music, and taking it to new audiences. Arguably, McEuen’s most important legacy may be his initiating what Rolling Stone called “The most important record to come out of Nashville” and what the 2004 ZAGAT survey called “the most important record in country music” – Will the Circle Be Unbroken.

Hailed by Rolling Stone as “a genre unto herself,” composer and guitarist Kaki King is a true iconoclast. Over the past 10 years the Brooklyn-based artist has released six extraordinarily diverse and distinctive albums (from which B-sides & Rarities has been largely culled), performed with such icons as Foo Fighters, Timbaland, and The Mountain Goats.

Derek Gripper’s work creates an African repertoire for the classical guitar based on transcriptions of works by some of Africa’s greatest musicians, bringing the guitar and the music of Africa to life in new and exciting ways.
