The Steeles consist of five siblings; J.D., Fred, Jearlyn, Jevetta, and Billy Steele. They have been singing together since they were children growing up in Gary, Indiana where they began to develop their style and soul. Each came to Minnesota for different reasons; however, it is clear they were meant to be a part of the Minnesota sound. They have recorded and performed with Prince, Donald Fagen, Morgan Freeman, George Clinton, Mavis Staples, Johnny Lang, Peabo Bryson, The Five Blind Boys of Alabama, and others throughout their long and storied career.

We first came to know him through the global smash “World Without Love,” as one half of the British Invasion duo Peter & Gordon. He returns in “Peter Asher: A Musical Memoir of the 60s and Beyond” which brings a multimedia experience to the stage, hosted by the two-time Grammy winner for Producer of the Year. Peter Asher moved effortlessly from his role with Peter & Gordon to Music Executive with the Beatles’ Apple Records, then famously- (as in cover of Rolling Stone magazine level famous)- to Producer and Manager, handling the careers of James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt and a host of others.

One of the most esteemed electric guitarists of his generation, Mike Stern has distinguished himself over a four-decade career that has encompassed musical partnerships with Blood, Sweat & Tears, Billy Cobham, Miles Davis, Jaco Pastorius, the Brecker Brothers and Joe Henderson, as well as 16 recordings as a leader (six of which were nominated for Grammy awards). An electrifying soloist whose blistering chops combine rock-fusion firepower with sophisticated jazz harmonies and his inherently bluesy string bending prowess, Stern has the ability to instantly elevate the proceedings on any gig or session he plays by channeling the spirits of his own personal guitar heroes Jimi Hendrix, Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall and Albert King.

Jimmy Webb is one of the preeminent songwriters of the last 50 years. His songs “Wichita Lineman,” “Galveston,” “MacArthur Park” and more have been heard by millions of people. He is the only artist to have ever received Grammy Awards for music, lyrics, and orchestration, and according to BMI, his song “By the Time I Get to Phoenix” was the 3rd most performed song between 1940 and 1990. As a performer, Webb also met with critical acclaim. His debut, Words and Music, was released in late 1970, with Rolling Stone calling his song “P.F. Sloan a “masterpiece [that] could not be improved upon.” Webb released six albums between 1970 and 1982, each uniformly praised for their creative music and forthright lyrics.

Formed in 1998, Grand Marquis has since become solidly rooted in the Kansas City music scene as one of the hardest-working bands in the region, playing over 100 shows per year!
