Get ready for an unforgettable night as they bring Sounds From The Ancestors to life!

The London Evening Standard gushes about the “unusual warmth, touch and taste” in pianist Trevor Watkis’s playing. An alumnus of the Berklee School of Music, Watkis has performed with Stanley Turrentine, Steve Wilson, Reuben Rogers, Lewis Nash, Eddie Henderson, and many others.

Bassist Corcoran Holt started early in music, as a 4-year-old percussionist before moving to bass and attending the prestigious Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC. Kenny Garrett’s regular bassist for over a decade, he has performed with Curtis Fuller, Carmen Lundy, Roy Hargrove, Mulgrew Miller, and many more.

Drummer Ronald Bruner, Jr. may be the only member of thrash legends Suicidal Tendencies to play The Dakota! He has performed on Grammy-winning albums by Kendrick Lamar and Stanley Clarke, and has worked with Kamasi Washington, George Duke, and Terrace Martin. He has not yet performed with his brother, Thundercat, but there’s still time for that to happen!

Percussionist Rudy Bird performed on The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Seriously. A first call studio player, he has performed with Miles Davis, Leela James, The Duke Ellington Orchestra, and on records by Amy Winehouse, Nas, and Michael Jackson.

Vocalist Melvis Santa quickly became one of Havana, Cuba’s biggest vocal stars, leading groups like Sexto Sendido and Interactivo. Based in New York since 2014, she continues to meld Afro-Cuban sounds with jazz and soul. She has collaborated with Buena Vista Social Club, Ravi Coltrane, Chucho Valdez, Michel LeGrand, Les Nubians, and many others.
