Robert Glasper
His 2024 live album, “Keys to the City: Volume One” won’t give listeners a preview of his six shows at the Dakota because it was recorded during his annual “Robtober” run at the Blue Note in New York City where he was joined by Norah Jones, Black Thought and Meshell Ndegeocello covering material by the Roots, OutKast and Chick Corea. The album does give insights, though, into keyboardist Glasper’s expansive mind and open-minded musicality. He is returning to the Dakota with his acoustic trio.

Lisa Fischer
She is quite simply one of one. There is no other vocalist quite like Fischer. She had a R&B hit with “How Can I Ease the Pain” in 1991 and went on to become a star backup vocalist for the Rolling Stones, Luther Vandross, Tina Turner and others. In the past dozen years, Fischer has reinvented herself as an unclassifiable vocal stylist who reimagines classics by the Stones, Zeppelin, Vandross, Sting and others. Working with the simpatico combo known as Grand Baton, Fischer brings an organic, ethereal and magical blend of pop, R&B, classical, rock, jazz, blues, folk and global styles into a riveting tapestry of emotionalism and artistry.
