Kronos Quartet
No string quartet has done more to bring new music into the world over the past half-century than this foursome, which seems to be constantly combing the earth for emerging composers and commissioning work from them. Its two nights at the Dakota will feature a program designed specifically for the Twin Cities in 2026, with plans to assemble a live album from the four performances. In addition to Jacob Garchik’s arrangements of music by everyone from John Coltrane to Neil Young to electronica artist Jlin, it will feature collaborations with two locals, powwow singer Joe Rainey and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Broder.
