Soul Asylum
Dave Pirner has worked acoustic before, usually with just his band’s guitarist Ryan Smith. Then in 2023, Pirner did a full band acoustic presentation at the State Theatre to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Soul Asylum’s appearance on “MTV Unplugged.” In Minneapolis, Pirner was joined by his New Orleans pal Ivan Neville on keyboards and a gospel choir led by Robert Robinson. Pirner will reprise the acoustic show in a more intimate setting, with Neville and the Laurels Strings Quartet. The concert will be a preview of Soul Asylum’s upcoming album, “Mpls. Unplugged,” a recording of that 2023 concert.
