DAKOTA DEBUT!

“Jesús can pull a beautiful melody out of thin air.” – Pianote

Jesús Molina, a Colombian jazz pianist, vocalist, and saxophonist, was born in Sincelejo, Colombia in 1996. Molina started playing saxophone at the age of 12 and three years later, he decided to change instruments and only focus on piano.

In 2016, Molina received the prestigious Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation® – Juan Luis Guerra Scholarship which included a full scholarship to the renowned Berklee College of Music. His first appearance at NAMM in 2018, in collaboration with Nord keyboards, became an important moment in Jesús’ career due to several of his performance videos going viral.

Today, Molina is one of the rising stars on the international jazz scene, having recorded and performed with artists such as Jesus Adrian Romero, Noel Schajris, Arturo Sandoval, Rudy Perez, Eric Marienthal, Gabriela Soto, Cory Henry, Randy Brecker, Carlitos del Puerto, Randy Waldman, Zedd, Juan Luis Guerra, Alex Campos, John Patitucci, Mike Stern, Dave Weckl, Tom Brooks, Jordan Rudess, and many others.

As he continues to develop a unique style combining all his musical influences including Oscar Peterson, Art Tatum, Errol Garner, and Bill Evans, Molina’s sophisticated approach to arranging has cemented his place as one of the fresh new faces of jazz music.

Recommended for Fans of Arturo Sandoval, Cory Henry, Nachito Herrera and Chucho Valdés.
