Mike Cooley is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He is best known as a member of the Southern rock band Drive-By Truckers. There, the Alabama musical style blends elements of rock, country, and Americana. Additionally, he is recognized for his sharp, evocative lyrics and distinctive guitar work. As one of the band’s primary songwriters, Cooley has written numerous iconic tracks for Drive-By Truckers. Further, his songs often explore themes of personal introspection, Southern identity, and social commentary.
