One of the great soul and blues singers in the Twin Cities, Willie Walker has lent his sweet tenor voice to a number of high-profile projects, yet still remains one of the region’s best kept secrets. Walker’s music comes from a different time, a different place and a different point of view. He’s one of the few vocalists from the golden age of soul that is still standing and that can still sing.

Traveling the world with their unique, high-energy performances, the Django Festival All-Stars pay tribute to the style of Django Reinhardt, one of the greatest guitar players of all time and the first European jazz musician to make major contributions to the development of the guitar genre. His driving, swinging style became known as “hot jazz” and it continues to grow in popularity globally. The Django Festival All-Stars honor the best energetic traditions of this French gypsy jazz but add their own creative interpretations, arrangements, and original compositions, all with the stunning virtuosity typical of these highly regarded players.

Velvet Caravan
October 11 | 7pm
Call 612.332.5299 or Click Here For Tickets

This unorthodox, high-energy, acoustic-based quintet of guitar, violin, standup bass, percussion and keyboards (including accordion) has, over the past few years, emerged as one of the shining lights of Savannah’s burgeoning music scene. In that time, the band has grown from a somewhat informal instrumental combo which routinely drew enthusiastic and loyal followers at raucous restaurant and bar gigs to a respected and admired touring act that’s as comfortable in an attentive listening room or large concert hall as they are in a crowded nightclub. Velvet Caravan’s unique ability to subtly shift musical gears without sacrificing their integrity as composers and performers is rare indeed.
