Soulful Pop Vocals
Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum singer/songwriter Joan Osborne’s sultry, husky vocals have won over fans spanning genres, from country to rock to folk to blues. Born in Kentucky, Osborne began her musical career in 1991 with the release of Soul Show: Live at Delta 88 on her own independent label, Womanly Hips. In 1995 she released Relish, which skyrocketed to success with the hit single “One of Us”.
A collection of some of her favorite classic songs, Osborne’s newest release, Bring it on Home, is a tribute to the music she has long loved and drew inspiration from. With vocals that growl and soar, Osborne alternately cries out with heart-wrenching soul and foot-stomping grooves that characterize the vintage blues and soul she grew up on. The album includes covers of Muddy Waters’ “I Want to Be Loved”, Slim Harpo’s “Shake Your Hips” and Olive Brown’s “Roll Like a Big Wheel”, which perfectly showcase Osborne’s smoldering vocals.
