Art Vandalay

Art Vandalay

What started out as an alter ego for songwriter Brandon Henry has become a full-fledged band and a breath of fresh air in the Twin Cities’ Americana/roots-rock scene. Combining the crisp jazz rhythms of drummer Calvin Keasling with keyboard wizard Ben Cook-Feltz’s Benmont Tench-like piano licks and layered harmonies make Art Vandalay’s music “impossibly catchy” (Duluth News-Tribune).

His recording and film work has netted him 4 Grammy Awards, 6 Billboard Awards and an…

Ashleigh Still

Ashleigh Still

Jim Walsh has been calling Still “the Eva Cassidy of Woodbury,” and for good reason. The refined pop music that she creates comes from a similarly deep place, a well of experience that lends weight and substance to music that would fail in weaker hands, and voices. • a solo tune from a recent Americana Showcase

Assad Brothers

Assad Brothers

Brazilian-born brothers Sérgio and Odair Assad have set the benchmark for all other guitarists by creating a new standard of guitar innovation, ingenuity and expression. Their exceptional artistry and uncanny ensemble playing come from both a family rich in Brazilian musical tradition and from studies with the guitar/lutenist Monina Távora (1921-2011), a disciple of Andrés Segovia. In addition to setting new performance standards, the Assads have played a major role…
