Arthur L.A. Buckner is a drummer extraordinaire, performing musician, teaching artist, and producer from the Northside of Minneapolis. He holds a master’s degree in Percussion Performance from McNally Smith College of Music. Over the last four years, L.A. Buckner & Big Homie have released two critically acclaimed albums. Additionally, they have performed to sold out audiences in venues across the country.
In August 2020, L.A. took iTunes by storm with the release of his debut album BiG HOMiE. There, the album reached Number One on the Jazz chart within twenty-four hours of its release.
In October 2024, L.A. released his second album entitled Norfside. Here, Norfside brings his musical vision full circle, back to his roots. Moreover, the new album pays homage to the community and the music he grew up with. Also, Buckner honors the many other “Norfside” musicians that blazed a trail for him to follow. The album was produced by L.A. and the band, mixed by Jesse Ray Ernster, and mastered by the legendary Herb Powers. The new album is a step ahead from the previous album, musically and sonically. Also, it takes the band to a variety of new destinations.
