“You could think of the American Roots Revue as Larry Long’s version of Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue. Well-known rockers, soul singers, folkies and other first-class musicians rotate through the line-up at different gigs, giving audiences the rare chance to see different artists collaborating on each other’s songs”

American Roots Revue reunites at the Dakota for two shows on April 8, 2022 with a spectacular lineup of featured artists: Claudia Schmidt, masterful weaver of song; Robert Robinson, Pavarotti of gospel; Tonia Hughes Kendrick, powerhouse of soul; and American Troubadour Larry Long.
The American Roots Revue band is led by former Prince and Current Soul Asylum Drummer Michael Bland and Keyboardist Billy Steele of the legendary Steele Family and Sounds of Blackness. The group also features Joe Savage on pedal steel, Larry Dalton on bass, George Parrish on guitar, and Daryl Boudreaux on percussion.
American Roots Revue 7 PM show will be filmed by Twin Cities TPT/PBS for a new hour-long broadcast series called STAGE. The content will premiere on TPT2 (TPT’s main channel) and be available for streaming on all platforms. Highlighting musical performance, STAGE host Natalia Romero Arbeláez, will also bring audiences around the fabled Dakota and go backstage for conversation with performers to further round out the broadcast.
Effective immediately, all performances at the Dakota will require either proof of a full course of COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken in the prior 72 hours. Patrons must have a completed COVID-19 vaccination card or a photo of their card, with their final dose at least fourteen days prior to the event, or a negative COVID-19 test result from 72 hours or less prior to the event.
