“well polished… powerful and bluesy” – Tahoe On Stage
Rock ‘n’ roll recording artists and globe-trotting journeymen Devon Allman and Donavon Frankenreiter are hoping to make history in 2023. The longtime friends have teamed up for the See It All American Tour to attempt to set the official world record for the fastest time to play a concert in each of the fifty states, which is currently fifty in fifty days set in 2003. The concept is simple, but the execution will be brutal as Allman and Frankenreiter seek to complete the challenge in forty-nine days.
“I’ve had this idea in my back pocket for the better part of a decade,” shares Allman. “It’s just always been a fantasy to go after a world record.”
The Devon Allman Project is a six-piece world-class band that has previously toured almost 20 countries. It is led by Blues Music Award winner Devon Allman and features two drummers, bass, Hammond B3 organ and piano and another guitarist. They will be playing songs of The Allman Brothers and Devon’s father Gregg Allman in their set as well as Devon’s originals and surprise covers.
For nearly four decades Donavon Frankenreiter has been traveling the globe, first as a professional surfer and now as a musician. Born in Southern California, Donavon spent most of his youth chasing waves, turning pro at the age of 16. These days instead of surf competitions, it’s concert halls that bring Frankenreiter to town, where he entertains audiences with his unique blend of laid-back grooves, philosophical lyrics and soulful delivery.
Davy Knowles first burst onto the scene in 2007 with his band Back Door Slam, garnering rave reviews, national US television appearances, extensive triple-A radio airplay, and two top-five Billboard Blues charting albums. An extensive tour schedule has included appearances with The Who, Jeff Beck, Gov’t Mule, Lynyrd Skynrd, Joe Bonamassa, Peter Frampton, and Joe Satriani.
