"A master class on space and dynamics... an adept lyrical interpreter... tremendous tonal command."
– JazzTimes

Don’t miss this young star on the rise, forging a path as jazz superstar in the making. At age 24, Veronica Swift is now being recognized around the country as one of the top young jazz singers on the scene.

The buzz-worthy vocalist set the jazz world on fire after her second-place finish at the 2015 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition, in which she wowed judges Dee Dee Bridgewater, Al Jarreau and Patti Austin. A native of Charlottesville, North Carolina, the prodigious Veronica Swift made her recording debut at age 9 with saxophonist Richie Cole and has followed her muse ever since, recording her second album with tenor player Harry Allen, making her debut at Jazz at Lincoln Center at 11, and indulging her taste for 20s and 30s swing with the legendary Nighthawks band led by historian and musician Vince Giordano. The daughter of renowned pianist Hod O’Brien and singer Stephanie Nakasian, Swift has shared stages with Michael Feinstein, Jon Hendricks, Paquito D’Rivera, Esperanza Spalding, and Joe Lovano.

“Green is a young classicist… he plays funky and hard, and breathes not only bebop but Oscar Peterson’s virtuosic effusions as well.” —The New York Times. Nobody plays straight-ahead modern jazz piano with more swinging joy and finesse than Benny Green, the one-time Berkeley High wunderkind who developed his leanly lyrical and propulsive playing in the star-making bands of three powerful master musicians: singer Betty Carter, drummer Art Blakey and bassist Ray Brown. A successful bandleader for 20 years, Green has released a string of records as well as playing on scores of records by top artist like Diana Krall, Freddie Hubbard and Milt Jackson. In 1993, the great pianist Oscar Peterson picked Green to receive Toronto’s Glenn Gould International Protégé Prize in Music and later recorded the dazzling Oscar & Benny album with him.  More at bennygreenmusic.com >>
